    Parker Hale M82/84/85/87 and C3/C3A1

Sirh, Have you tried EBay.uk? I’ve seen a few on there just using “Parker Hale” in the search box.....

    Springfield M1A

I have a nostalgic love of the platform ( for a foreigner ) and grew up seeing pictures of the USMC and Army teams competing with them. I’m not always super practical so the notion of all the hand fitting and specialist knowledge to get them up to speed has an appeal. Sort of like a good match...

    Optolyth spotting scopes any good?

A few years ago I sold my Kowa TSN and picked up an Optolyth Flouride coated TBS 80. Been very happy with the Optolyth for HP shooting and a little precision stuff Ive tried. Have both a 20x wide angle and a 22-60x eyepiece. There is a mil scale eyepiece available as well. For HP and prone...

M40A1 rifles in TV and Cinema

Don’t forget Mike in Season 2 of Better Call Saul..... The stock isn’t quite right and the barrel looks like a std Rem Varmint profile but at least it’s got a USO on it with an ARD no less. In a later episode there is a similar rifle but with a Leupold Mk4 M3 on it. I don’t recall if it’s...

    M40A1 Pictures

What a crap article. Some writers frame of reference just isn’t suited for hard subjects like war. His entire exposure to violence is from television hence his stupid question about a psyche evaluation. He just can’t grasp the place sniping holds in the battlefield.

    M40A1 Pictures

Not a complete rifle photo, but added for the bad-assery factor..... Colonel David J Willis, USMC. Former commander of WTB Quantico, double distinguished shooter. As commander of WTB he oversaw both the competition in arms programs and the Scout Sniper school for over ten years. ” My wife has...

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

I keep seeing the M85 cast receivers on GB and am tempted, but I recall that they still require heat treating and other finishing on top of all the required parts to complete. There used to be a guy in Canton Ohio who was into the PH sniper rifles and operated a website with parts and...

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

Glad if the photos helped with your build. I too am considering an early C3 build on a 1200TX at some point. The later version is more difficult with the later closed top M84/5 receiver , scope mount ( saw one last year at a local gun show-$1000 was the asking price) and make that 2 MST-100’s...

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

Found some pics of both the Kahles equipped C3 and the later upgrade with the C3A1 Unertl 10x and unique unitized mount. The CF version of the Unertl 10x was calibrated ( in metres of course!) for the 168 grain sniper ammo to 800m. I believe outside domestic sales to the USMC and FBI it was the...

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

Argh, dyslexia strikes me again! And to top it off the US Army wanted to give the sniper team Silver or Bronze Stars but then they got caught up in a controversy surrounding an alleged “trophy photo” with a Taliban KIA. https://www.macleans.ca/news/canada/we-were-abandoned/

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

Yes that was during Operation Anaconda, PPCLI snipers confirmed kill at 2340 yards using a McM Tac 50 I believe. A Brit beat it later with an AW, then Cdn SF got it back in Syria.

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

The early 80’s was a hoot, as Cadets we could qualify to go on a range of regular army courses as well, like the Regular Army Airborne course, 3 weeks at CFB Trenton or Petawawa earning the same jump wings with 7 jumps out of a Herc as full time military, and being the time of the Iron Curtain...

    Mk 13 Mod 0 stock

I am looking into getting a local laser etching shop to engrave my bolt to match the Crane “Mk13 Mod 0” markings, has anyone done this and did the shop just engrave based on a picture or does anyone have a file they could share that they used? Thanks all,

And if you drive a personal car home from the office, be it underground or fenced compound be aware of being tailed to your residence. I’m sure these ding bats aren’t trained in vehicle surveillance so it may be amateurish, but consider taking steps while en route to clean yourself or spot a...

    Parker Hale M82 Clone

That’s a thing of beauty, thanks for chronicling your build It looks great. Love how you got a modern match barrel blank turned to the correct PH profile, lots of guys don’t get that level of detail. Awesome. The stock work looks great as well. My introduction to target rifle shooting was as an...

    FBI Sniper Rifles

Thanks for the close up of the range card. I wondered if that was a sub 100 yard zero card and was going to ask for a close up. Makes total sense for shots taken across a typical two lane city street for instance. Thanks for all the excellent photos And information

    Mk 13 Mod 0 stock

I’ll have a look at what I have. For whatever reason the 500 Black Hills Match cases I bought have some Lake City 300 WM cases mixed in, however the date stamps are all mixed, from LC08 up to LC11. So I’m not sure I could hobble together 100 of the same year head stamp but I will check. Im also...

    Mk 13 Mod 0 stock

Thats what I’ve heard, basically have a spent brass bucket next to your rifle. I haven’t chrono’d the 74 grain load at the muzzle but it’s still just shy of 2000 fps at 600m and the brass is good. This is 5 shots each from 2 different rifles, my Mk13 is shots 6 thru 10. ( shot 6 is underneath...
