    And please do not take these measurements with calipers. Calipers are just a tape measure with a Tach. Make sure you are using a depth mic for the receiver measurements and a good 0-1 micrometer to measure your lug.

    More than likely you have an issue due to change of components. Different Lug, receiver, bolt nose protrusion, and so on. These are things that need to be looked at before you chamber. This is a big reason why take off barrels are not always a good idea. JWP

    You never emailed it to us. Emails are answered at least daily and most times several times per day. Unless you are a Chinese bearing manufacturer or something that gets caught by the spam filter your email gets answered. Not always with what you want to hear but it gets an answer.

    The new machine is not the type used to profile barrels. We looked at that type of machine last week but honestly do not have the room to put one in. We were close but the deal just wasn't quite hot enough to pull the trigger on.

    At LRI we helically bore them to 8-40 in our Kitamura CNC then thread mill them. That is to eliminate a drill bit deflecting trying to follow the old holes.
