    6.5x47 still relevant?

Shot PRS National and local level for 5 years. Love the 6.5x47. I just spun a new 6.5x47 barrel on my gun, and plan to get back into competing again this year. It's not the fastest or sexiest cartridge, but it has been amazingly consistent for me. My prior barrel had 2500 rounds on it. The load...

    What’s the BEST bourbon?

I've enjoyed Elijah Craig, and Angel's Envy. Love Buffalo Trace. Current bourbon I'm drinking is Blade and Blow which pleasantly surprised me with how smooth it is.

MK vs LRI follower for ARC mags

I have 6 ARC mags that I have purchased used with LRI followers already installed. I've not had any issues thus far. Some of the used look well used, some not as much. I'd consider the LRI and your existing springs before I spent the money on all new magazines that may or not be better. I gave...

    300 RUM range session today

No, I haven't gone heavier than 220. Barrel is a 1 in 10 twist, and that might be my issue. Once I shoot this one out, my next barrel will be a faster twist.

    300 RUM range session today

Interesting day at the range. This rifle has been an off and on project for a while. Haven't been able to get it to shoot well with 200 ELDX's, 220 ELDX's, and lately the new 205 Bergers. Rifle is: Rem 700 Long action (circa 2001) blue printed/trued Original trigger, tuned 26in Krieger heavy...

    Gun MPH Wind Bracket Rose

One of my shooting buddies taught me gun MPH a few years ago, and I've used it ever since. Only thing that ever made sense to me regarding wind calling. Bracketing and other methods just made my head hurt.

Oxford University and shooting in the UK

I studied at Oxford back in 2008 for a term. Make sure you hit up the Eagle and Child and other pubs in town. I didn't join a club though, didn't have the time. There was a gal in my group that did join the rowing club rowing club, so I know it's possible. I'd recommend you try and reach out...

Berger 205 grain elite hunter bullets

Don't have a Weatherby, but first time taking the 300 RUM out with the 205 Berger today. Simply went out with a 14 shot ladder worked up in .5 gr increments to find pressure signs. All rounds fired over a Magneto Speed Sporter. Gun is: Rem 700 LA, blue printed and trued by W.A.R Rifles in...

Load to the kernel or +-.02

Shouldn't matter. My 6.5x47 load is 37.7 Varget. The window I let the auto trickler throw to is 37.68 to 37.72 and I have not noticed any dope effects out to 1200 yards.

PRS Talk Understanding your Mental Game

Good lists. This past season I made a concerted effort to be more organized in my stage prep. I kept mental lists, but my plan this year is to have written lists like yours. I think the biggest change I made that helped improve my mental game is really watching other shooters, and watching...

    anyone shooting Remington 260?

Do a 260AI. Loved the round. A bit impractical for competitions but for a secondary gun or belly gun it's a ton of fun.
