Re: 308 win lead free Factory hunting round I've used the Barnes factory loaded TTSXs in 150, 168 and 180 from Antelope to Elk. Have yet to need a shot over 300 yards and the bullet has always passed through, exiting. It uually leaves something very small on entry, about the size of a...
Re: 10/22 conversion I was pondering whether a new run of Hornady hm2 ammo would function differently. Seems the legacy of Ely still haunts the hm2. So the question is, what ammo were you shooting?
Re: Hunt Gear You're in PHX and there are many places in PHX to check out 'tactical gear' - I'm thinking SGC, and the store next to it, or AZ Tactical (28th Ave). If those places don't have 'it' they can point the way to someone who might. From my experience, gather your desired gear...
Re: mkIII 22/45 question FYI, the Tacticalsol barrels are available without threading, "Available with or without flutes in a standard barrel or threaded end barrel** in ½” x 28 TPI" http://www.tacticalsol.com/tshome/tactic...-series-pistols
Re: mkIII 22/45 question Regarding upgrades... http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=418889 You said legal but inferred illegal. I was wondering why you can't (usual commie gripes aside) - threaded barrel? It's not too short.
Re: Hunt Gear I use a chest rig for birds out here in the west. You do a lot of walking after quail and having shells in your pants pockets weights down. Makes it easy to get in n out of the truck. Compartments for shells. Binos. SPOT + GPS.
Re: Bushnell yardage pro on ruger 77/17? According to PDF instructions - http://www.bushnell.com/manuals/rangefinders/20-4124%206LIM.pdf You need a weaver mount. Weigand's mount works nicely on the 77/17 series... http://www.jackweigand.com/7722s.html Alternatively, Burris Ruger to...

Re: Finished my Ruger MkIII I asked because I don't see a way around getting a Donor MKII / III for the bolt. The Tacticsol upper doesn't come with it, the complete lower doesn't come with it. In the end the Ruger, upper and lower all cost about the same...hence my '3 gun' comment.
Re: Finished my Ruger MkIII Thanks for the intel on the digital weight scale. Did you manage to do this without having to 'buy' three guns to make one?
Re: Finished my Ruger MkIII What's the weight of that (minus the can)? I've been considering that set up and wondering how it differs from the factory OEM set up.
Re: Trying to figure out what bipod I want?? The differences between models seems to be the way they attach to a rail. Screw tight, quick release lever and something without a clamp so you can choose. You already found the AICS spigot thing.
Re: 30mm rings with + 20 MOA for Ruger 77/22 Weigand Combat makes a nice (flat, not 20MOA) weaver or picatinny rail for the 77/22 that goes on easy. Not sure why you would need a 20moa base to shoot yards though. Ken Farrell has something for the Ruger No.1 (which has a flat base, and...
