    Any Mountaineers?

The same guys wrote "Training for the New Alpinism" and host uphillathelete.com. Great book, I just read it last month. They really like high volume, low intensity cardio training with a small amount of high intensity mixed in. The concepts are not revolutionary on their own, but the way they...

Building a do it all rifle.

Re: Building a do it all rifle. Why not a .308 win?? No one has suggested it, but why not? Excellent reloading components, ammo availible at any Walmart in the US, and can spit 175 grain pills at a respectable 2650 fps out of a 20" barrel? Plus barrel life in the 5000 range, and you can use...

Best 308 rifle for $!200 or less

Re: Best 308 rifle for $!200 or less Though it does not have as much aftermarket support as a Remington, tikka is getting some love. I believe the best factory rifle right now is the Tikka CTR scout. For under 900 dollars, I have yet to see a tikka that will not shoot. I don't think I have...

Barrel profile selection for lightweight rifle

Re: Barrel profile selection for lightweight rifle I've heard several times that a # 5 unfluted is the minimum for an accuracy build, and any heavier is just for added weight. I know a lot of long range hunters that love the 5 1/2 contour, finishing at .750 at the muzzle on a 26 inch barrel.
