Quad rail for Stag arms Model 1

I was looking at the UTG Pro quad rails in Leapers website and I was curious which one I would need to order for a Stag Model 1. I think the MTU001S would be the one I'm looking for. My rifle currently has the standard 2 piece forend grip. Does anyone know if this is correct? Also, where is a...

Rifle Scopes Any suggestions for a 20moa offset base and rings

I'm hoping some of you may have some suggestions for a good 20moa offset mount and 30mm rings. I've been checking out some prices of what is available and my better judgement tells me I can get something good for less than the $300.00 to $400.00 price range. This is the way I look at it...If...

Gunsmithing Converting a Remington 700P to a box magazine

I just installed a Jewell trigger in my Remington 700P with a hinged floor plate magazine and I'm about to rebarrel it. When I changed the trigger, it looked like it wouldn't take much to convert the rifle to accept a box (clip) magazine. Does anyone know what it would take to do so? If it's...

Gunsmithing Question about installing a Jewell trigger

Re: Question about installing a Jewell trigger I thought it might be about 1 pound. The X-Mark I just pulled out was adjusted as low as it would go at 3.3 pounds (Not exactly the 2 pounds as per Remington's specs). My smith told me he has yet to see an X-Mark that adjusts down to 2 pounds.

Gunsmithing Help with ordering a .30cal Krieger barrel

Re: Help with ordering a .30cal Krieger barrel Trust me when I say, he is an excellent smith and highly thought of for his work. I actually met him a few weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and his character. I’m usually a good judge of character and maybe it’s just me...

Gunsmithing Question about installing a Jewell trigger

Let me see if I can describe this where it makes sense to everyone. I just installed a Jewell trigger and everthing is working perfectly…Including the bolt release. However, I’m a little concerned about the position of the bolt release lever before and after the install. Before I installed...

Gunsmithing Help with ordering a .30cal Krieger barrel

I wasn't sure if I should post this on the bolt action rifle section or here and I decided this would be the best section. Anyway, I want to order a barrel and I get the feeling the smith doesn't want to make any suggestions and wants me make the choice on my own. Which I fully understand in...

Rifle Scopes SWFA SSHD 5-20x50 scopes from the group buy

Re: SWFA SSHD 5-20x50 scopes from the group buy Jon A, I think you may have just helped me make my final decision. One of my main concerns is how easy the scope is on the eye. Again, thanks for the pics! The Millet scope has been a great learner scope for a newbie such as me and I can’t...

Rifle Scopes SWFA SSHD 5-20x50 scopes from the group buy

Re: SWFA SSHD 5-20x50 scopes from the group buy Jon A, thank you so much for the pics because they are definately worth a thousand words! It looks like there was some haze in the 1000 yard pics that probably didn't do the scope's clarity justice when you compare it to the 300 yard pics. I...

    Rifle Scopes Mounting a scope

Re: Mounting a scope LOL remau308! I guess I did make it sound a little annal. What I'm concerned about is making sure the scope is level and the vertical cross hair is in fact vertical in correlation to the barrel. In other words, under ideal conditions with absolutely no wind, if you...

    Rifle Scopes Mounting a scope

Is there a sticky or thread on mounting a scope with absolute precision? I looked around a little but didn't see anything. Thanks,

Re: SWFA SSHD 5-20x50 scopes from the group buy Thanks so much for the replies. I'm feeling fairly confident about the quality of the SWFA's and am pretty sure this is what I want to get. It seems to have all the qualities I'm looking for. Two of the replies that helped out a lot were the...

Rifle Scopes SWFA SSHD 5-20x50 scopes from the group buy

I found a post from this past summer for a group buy for the SWFA SSHD 5-20x50 scopes. It would have been great to get in on it but it appears I'm a day late and a dollar short. However, I am seriously considering getting one and was hoping to get some feedback from everyone who bought them...

Rifle Scopes Advice for next scope

I am looking for advice for a better scope for my rifle. I’m about to spend around $1200.00 to re-barrel, cut the chamber & true up the action on my 700P rifle and am looking at getting a good scope for my rifle. When I bought the rifle, I bought a low end scope for about $400.00 to get me...

    Gunsmithing Advice for a re-barrel on a Rem. 700P in .308 win.

I'm looking for some advice on a re-barrel and truing up the action on my 700P. The reason I'm looking to re-barrel the rifle, is, I reload and have discovered it has an extremely long throat and any factory ammo I have tried sits anywhere from .210 to .250 from the lands. I've only tried...

Intro to 600 Yard Shooting- July 30, Louisiana

Re: Intro to 600 Yard Shooting- July 30, Louisiana This sounds awesome as I have been dying to do some shooting at 600 yards which I have never done before. Will you have plenty of room in the class? I have about 1 or 2 more people that may want to come with me.
