A buddy got one today and it ran through 150 rounds with only one hiccup, but that was with a known bad magazine. Lots of fun! Have to play with it more to see how to reliably get single shots off.
I read all 28 pages of this thread but didn't see many reports from 300 PRC owners. Lots of trouble with the early 300 WM rifles, but I hope the current new production rifles are doing better? I'm looking at the Havak Element for my long distance hunting rifle, and would love to hear from more...
Yeah, some guys in my club started with 6 Creedmoor but have been switching over to 6 Dasher or 6 XC. I'm not exactly sure the reason. Since 6.5 x 47 is fully supported I figure 6 x 47 would also work, but am curious about others. Thanks! ETA: With the appearance of small primer Creedmoor...
Who: has a Desert Tech scope mount with 30 MOA of cant in stock, and can Cerakote it FDE for me? I bought a 40 MOA mount, but my Kahles is 2 mil shy of being able to zero at 100 yards in it. (I'll keep it for the happy day when I can get an HTI.) Please PM me. Thanks!
Anyone encounter problems with mag retention on an SRS-A1? My old 5-rounders (.260Rem) have been working fine, but I got one of the new 10-rounders with the slick coating and it wants to drop out under recoil. Only tends to drop out on the first 3-4 rounds when fully loaded; once it gets down to...
Except barrel life… :) ~2,500 rounds on the 6.5CM / 260Rem, vs ~7,500 rounds on .308 barrels. I'm happy to make that trade-off, but folks should be aware of it. ETA: Dang it, orkan beat me to it. Teach me to post before reloading the page…
Hey, Belgian! I'm shooting the 139gr Scenars in Lapua brass with a pretty light load (43.5gr of H4831SC, giving me about 2680 fps). They require about 1 mil of elevation at 300 yards, so your dope might not be far off if you're shooting light loads, too.
Nice glass upgrade! Moving the bipod closer to the butt of the rifle is popular with some folks, as they claim it reduces hop. Some don't see that benefit, though, so there's some individual difference. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
Hi all! New SRS-A1 owner in .260 Rem here. I shot an early Gen1 in 338LM many years ago and got totally hooked on the design. It's taken me quite a few years to get to the point to where I could afford to purchase one, but that great day has come and I picked up mine from my local dealer on...
