I'd go with the Leupold. It is the only spotter I've found that has enough eye relief to get a full field of view while wearing eyeglasses. It has 30mm while most of the others have 16-20. I see no point in paying more for slightly better glass and clarity in a scope that vignettes down to...
Chris, Perhaps you can give some insight into the issue I've mentioned with a lot of the high end spotting scopes. Why in the heck do they put 17-20mm eye relief on them? Leupold has 30 and that works great with eyeglasses or shooting glasses. I'm just not that crazy about popping glasses on...
High mag and low light was the only time I could perceive much difference at all. I was using an AF optical resolution chart and trying very hard to discern the differences.
No, they are getting insane. In my ongoing quest to upgrade my 20 year old spotting scope, I've looked at New Leupolds, Vortex and Swarovski. The ATX is roughly 3x the price of either the Vortex or the Leupold. I borrowed a Razor HD and an ATX so I could keep them at my house for a few days...
That's one side of my argument. I've never had a slam with either rifle using GM, but I understand the 34 gives a little extra margin of safety in that regard.
I'm going to put together a batch of 308 ammo that can be used in both my JP LRP-07 and M1A. Both shoot the Fed 168 GMM quite well, so I'd like to use the 42.8gr of 4064, Fed Brass, 168 SMK components suggested in Dan N's thread. My question is about substituting the CCI34 primer instead of...
I would certainly agree with that. Despite internet lore of guys using their EoTech equipped carbines to shoot sub-moa groups at 600 yards (all day long, if they do their part), that is not what it was designed for. It is at its best from CQB to 100yds with rapid acquisition being the primary...
I wouldn't be concerned about the clearance, but something looks a little off with the fit. It doesn't seem like the curve of the base matches the receiver contour very well. Could be the picture.
I absolutely love the clarity of the Swarovski, but as an eyeglass wearer, can't bring myself to spend that much on a spotter with only 20mm eye relief. My Leupold isn't nearly as good, but at least I can see a full field image due to 30mm eye relief. I'm not sure why the others can't do it...
That's what I do. Keeping it from getting too hot is more effective than trying to cool it down.<script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/e43f3fd0/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>
When Sako changed the trigger design on the TRGs, I decided to get one of the final 338 42s with the old design to pair with my TRG22. It's been sitting unfired in my vault for 2 years. I shoot my 308s and 300WM all the time, but just don't seem to find a reason to fire the 338 at paper. If I...
I like that approach. Unfortunately, all "gun games" go through this. Many start out with the goal of being more realistic, but they all suffer from rules that either specify or exclude certain equipment or techniques that require increased specialization to win. Ultimately, most of us will...
For SHTF loads, I keep things at the low end of the power curve. While you may have a perfectly fine load worked up in a particular rifle, you can't be sure that will be what you have in hand. I load a charge pretty close to a starting load, FL resized, seated to SAMMI OAL. That way, I can be...
