In all seriousness, something like this saved my life once. I inherited my granddad's old ranch rifle after his death. About a yr later I took it out shooting and shot 19 rounds out of a box. Couldn't tell you why I shot 19 and not 18 or just finish the box off at 20. That night, my roommate and...
Not on the same scale as the Asian vid, but it inspires me: A couple years ago a friend of a friend was stationed at "the great place", and somewhere up the line of his command a decision was made to not allow him to ride his bike anymore. He commuted quite a way to get his family out of that...
Ha, and they say your're not supposed to drink before or during the operation of heavy machinery! Anyway, heavy machinery wasn't what I was thinking when I saw them, unless you consider half a mule team heavy machinery!
I bought 500 rounds of LC brass a few months back and have gone through the normal stages of prepping and loading and have discovered something that has me pretty worried. I've hand loaded about 250 rounds so far and have found 15 of these. I can say with all certainty that they are not...
TBAC can't control the going ship rate for UPS. That said, only $40 went to them for quite a bit of gun and can smithing. The way that you describe the can going on very smoothly but not coming all of the way off tells me that almost certainly your barrel threading was dirty or somehow some...
I did a side by side to a M4-2K and the M4-2k was better at sound suppression. I was shooting at targets at 100 and 250 yards with a 3X acog. The targets at 250 were steel, so I can't give you a good comparison on accuracy or repeatable poi, but I can tell you that I have found the M42K to be...
Koz makes a very good point, though my shooting taste lead to a TBAC 30ba for my .308. Fantastic can, but not short =0) For a dedicated .556 I went with the AAC M42000, I've heard very good things about the SDN6 though too.
I have a Noveske gas-block switch on my Gap10 .308 and a gas-block switch on my ACR. Both are quite effective. If you already have a gasblock on your rifle, you might not need to get a gas block switch. Depending on how much you plan on switching between suppressed and unsuppressed, you could...
Mule, I have heard that there are sheriffs that are not giving consent, but I have not personally run into that nor has anyone I know. I went with a trust. I felt that it had the most advantages. Here's a form for reference: (just scroll halfway down) How to Buy a Silencer | Silencer Shop
We're going to be safer and better of than most in Texas brother! But no, I don't foresee any more potential "heat". It is already pretty regulated as it is. I've never gotten any flack for having one.
I think Killswitch is right on the money. adding weight to the end of your barrel is going to effect the barrel harmonics; proportionately related to barrel length. If it's repeatable, then no problem, just write your dope suppressed and unsuppressed down in your data book and you're good to go.
I'm sure that there are plenty that would disagree, but I think that that TBAC is the better suppressor. You reach the point of diminished returns quickly after the TBAC on price point. That said, I went with the TBAC 30ba on my Gap-10 and it is a good combination. Though, there is an article...
