I was able to trade for once fired so I have some to start playing with. Now I am going to fool around with forming from 416 as a parent to see if it can be done. I do this a lot with obsolete cartridges, but there is going to be a heavy shoulder angle from straight walled case. I am also...
I can't find, buy or trade for it so guess I can make it. What would be the best case to cut, size and form from. I have some 416 Ruger I could use as the base to cut size down. It would basically be a straight walled cartridge being sized down. My guess it I'd have to step it down. I made...
I believe this bullet will get 15"-20" penetration under 50 yards. I don't believe it would preform well at subsonic speeds hitting big bones. It's all speculation as I would never use this particular round on either. I'm sure somebody will get around to using it and we'll read about the...
The hog was shot at about 85 yds from an elevated swamp buggy. Hog was facing left and slightly turned towards me. Bullet entered about 3" behind ear and drove through angled down and exited. The hog was facing off with a dog and upon being shot folded straight down dead. I was not able to...
Apparently you do. It's a adjective phrase, a figure of speech. You know, like douche bag. I'm not suggesting or condoning .223 subs over 22lr. I'm stating what I've used and observed while shooting both in 3 barrel lengths. Both work with and have their benefits and weakness...
It's nothing more than an alternative to .22lr. I shoot both the conversion kit and .223 sub for shits and giggles. Nothing more nothing less. I like to reload and I worked up a load "because".
I know right. I'm not sure if you'd call it a tiny bolt....lol But 60gr SSS is very accurate and movie quiet in my 10.5" w/AAC Ranger 2. No POI shift to speak of. I just don't like shooting 22lr through the can. (Dirty)
Yes, it's quiet but no where near as quiet as subsonic. Subsonic is movie quiet. Only drawback in an AR is it will be single shot only. 22lr conversion kit suppressed will cycle conversion kit.
You get .22lr ballistics and suppression without the need for a 22lr conversion kit and the mess associated with shooting 22lr in an AR. I've worked up 62gr loads with Trail Boss and there is no issues with 1-7 twist (your mileage may vary). VERY quite and accurate.
Eddystone (change the front sight blade to thinner blade) A3 or A303 Garand M1A K31 (accurate, but ladder sight can be an issue with certain backlighting *at least for me)
