Re: ehMy lucky day? That's a great deal. Several years ago I purchased a VX-3 4.5-14x40 for my 300 Ultra Mag. The scope cost me $599.00 a little over 6 years ago.

Re: Finding the right ammo My Savage Mark II likes CCI Mini Mag 40gr Copper RN. I haven't experimented too much because my new scope hasn't arrived yet. Like the other posters are saying you will just have to try different ammo and determine what your rifle likes.

I'm finally going to add a scope to my 460 XVR. The barrel is 8 3/8. The gun will be used for punching paper out to 200 yards and some possible deer hunting. Weigand and Warne both make scope bases for the x frame but are there any others?
