I didn’t care too much about the short action release, but I’m tentatively excited about this one. I’m not really interested in PRS shooting but I have been thinking thinking hard about putting together a lightweight 7 PRC rig for elk and western hunts. So this might fit the bill when it...
I didn’t say anything about it being stainless, I only know it’s cerekoted… I don’t have a photo readily available, but it’s this one: https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/rifles/tikka-t3x-lite-roughtech-green-bolt-action-rifle-65-prc-24in/p/1742126
It’s amusing to remember barely 5 years ago when PTG was a very common recommendation here… It says a lot about how the community and industry has grown that they’re now warned against.
I think you’re better off finding a good no tap mount and just get a suitable modern scope (Fulton’s of Bisley used to sell a really nice one, I’d contact Brian Dick at https://bdlltd.com/ he might have some). We’ve gotten to the point that permanently modifying existing mulsurp rifles is...
How are you mounting the scope? If you use anything other than the pads and bracket for the (T) variant than I wouldn’t worry about maintaining the vintage look.
Beautiful rifles to be sure but no rifle I’m gonna bang around the woods or mountains with just to take a deer is worth $35,000… If I was a trust fund baby with a silver spoon shoved up my ass, sure I’d drop the money. But I can’t imagine dropping a third of my yearly pay on a rifle. But I can...
Looking to put together a dedicated hunting rig and looking hard at this scope… Unfortunately there isn’t much in the way of reviews on it that I can find. Has anyone had hands on experience with it? What are your thoughts on its viability and reliability?
Nope… While the K31 was/is more accurate, it didn’t hold the same capacity and it wasn’t as fast. I know this is a controversial statement and I’ll grant you that mechanically the K31 is faster. However, when you consider that in action the shooter behind the K31 has to move his face from behind...
Thanks… It may not be authentic but I’m pretty proud of it. The wood didn’t match when I sent it all to Brian. He did a great job of making them match. If you do get a riser and you care about it being authentic be careful, most the one you see online aren’t shaped correctly. I think I got mine...
I certainly belong to that cult… The Garand was my gateway into the world of milsurp rifles (tho a pristine 1903a3 was my first milsurp rifle I bought), but the Lee Enfield no.4 is my lasting love. I currently have 4 of them… - Two war worn Longbranch MkI* rifles. - A faux-T built off a...
The Lee Enfield is hands down the greatest bolt action battle rifle ever fielded… There were rifles that were more accurate. There were rifle as fast. There were rifles arguable more durable. There were rifles that held a similar capacity. But no other rifle combined all those traits into a...
