Rifle Scopes Why would I want a lower power optic over a higher power variable at a lower setting?

I have the moar reticle, too heavy on my pack rifle, went with the 2.5-10, but for all other uses I love the 4-16, tough optic with excellent repeatability.- jonesjl40

I have a Barrett Fieldcraft in 30-06, shoots great, but has a good amount of recoil. Would like to see the 280AI if they ever make it out with one.- jonesjl40
