Here's a link to additional articles I've found with more in-depth research..... 6.5 Creedmoor Barrel Length & Muzzle Velocity and another: Baby Barrel 6.5 CM Study Both have good information.......
In doing some online "research", I've heard this, but noone has produced any actual results from a chrono. If I had one, I'd do a before and after study.
For those that have more experience than I with long distance shooting. I have a new T3x Tac A1 that I've just mounted a PA PLx 6-30x56 FFP Apollo ACSS scope on, and am looking to lighten by shorten it by installing a Proof Research 22" Carbon Fiber barrel. My question is if anyone has any...
OK, so I would like to ask if anyone has any other suggestions aside from the Spuhr SP-4602 that aren't $400? Anyone else make a mount as solid at a better price point. You don't want to skimp on mounts, but I know someone has to make a comparable product for less. I like the bubble level...
I have an RCBS 338 Lapua Gold Medal Match series Bushing die set - P/N: 16605 that's never been used. - $175 Also have an unopened and sealed box of (500 count) Sierra .338 Caliber 300 gr HPBT MatchKing bullets and selling for $550 And 2 brand new boxes of new/unused Lapua brand 100 ct. .338 LM...
Thanks srt-4_uk! I appreciate the input. That aligns with what I found by doing some more research just now. I found some great info on the Spuhr website as well on this page..... How to Choose Your Mount Backs up your findings. Thanks again!
Anyone have any guidance? Do I need to choose a thermal clip-on, before I choose my scope mount height/cant? I'm planning on getting the Trijicon IR Hunter MK II 35MM Thermal Scope to use as a clip-on. Looks like it sits pretty low, so I'll be using an adapter to raise it up off the rail.
Fellow shooters, I have a Tikka Tac A1 I'm beginning to build, and am curious about scope mounts I'm considering right now. The two brands being considered are the Badger Ordnance Condition One unimount or the Spuhr mount for a 34mm scope tube. I believe the rifle's rail has 0 cant to it as is...
I am also wondering if anyone has weighed the Tikka Tac A1 OEM handguard? I'm looking at the BLK LBL integrated bipod/handguard replacement in 14" which weighs 1.6 lbs or the 16" which weighs 1.8 lbs. Trying not to add to much weight vs the OEM handguard with a separate quality bipod.
All, There's no doubt the SRS is an exceptional shooter, and I love the gun......as a bench shooter, or shooting it long distance with a single shot from a tripod, a blind, or prone position. At face value, there's no question that I'd be going to less expensive platforms selling the DTA, but...
I'm curious to see how much lighter it would be with the 6.5 Ultralight barrel, considering mine is the older model with the stock upgraded to the A1 stock with the monopod. The newer SRS A2 is over 2lbs lighter than even the A1. Right now, my SRS is probably about 13 lbs with the 26" 300 WM...
