I have the Kahles as well. Great scope! I do like the parallax knob but find it hard to adjust for parallax on these scopes. When it is parallax free it does not offer crisp images. Maybe I'm too picky but it didn't happen to me in other high end scopes...
Today I had a problem with the zero stop on my kahles... After engaging the zero stop I wanted to "undo" so I could have the extra elevation again and couldn't do it. After a while a friend of mine did it while messing with the scope, but I didn't understand what the correct procedure to do...
This is the kind of rifle you build to brag about. And then end up shooting it once or twice... I wouldn't spend my money on something that has no application in the real world... but that's just me...
How about an ATACR in First Focal Plane. And don't tell me that is the Beast because its not. The ATACR has good glass already and i don't care for the bell and whistles of the Beast...
He wants a Horus reticle. Kahles and Steiner are not in his list either. While I agree with you on and those are fine choices too. I would go for a S&B 3-20 or 5-25 or a Zeiss/Hensoldt I would not consider Nightforce because they do not make the scope you want. The only FFP scope is the...
I think the Kahles has a bit of chromatic aberration at long distances. It does have a great eyebox and no tunneling like S&B at low magnification. However the S&B has better image sharpness. And the Parallax works better... Both great scopes, no doubt...
I agree, with the above. I have a Kahles and its a really good scope, but maybe the S&B is a tad better. It does run a little less than the S&B. It will be available with MSR reticle as well The Steiner with MSR reticle is outstanding too! The Hensoldt scopes are really nice too! I have no...
The brake affects accuracy that is true. And I agree with you... I would still have the barrel threaded and have the option to use it when I want to. But wouldn't use one on a low recoiling round as is the 260. You can shoot all day without problems. If it hurts you're probably...
I agree with the above for tactial type matches I would opt for FFP, it is handier. For shooting at known distances, where calculation on the fly is not neccesary its the same thing so as long as you are in higher magnification. For using the scope at lower magnification SFP is better for me...
I had issues with a new Nightforce NXS. The windage turret did not "click" on a small section of the turret knob travel. The bronze wheel or whatever it is, which is inside the turret was all dented from the factory... It was pretty bad. I can't imagine how it got pase quality control.
I can get at least those groups easily out of a stock Rem 700P out to 200 yards all day long. I probably wouldn't be that much satisfied. It seems you aren't.
+1 for FFP on this one. The Beast is just too much. It looks futuristic as well and has some features that I don't care for... I Like the ATACR package. For a $2500 ish scope in FFP would be a sweet scope!
This one seems to be the one... I love JBM calculator and this is from them... If I download this app on my iphone can I also do it on the ipad or do I have to pay double?
