Night Vision What do you guys think of my tube specs

I have a set being made now. All of my experience is from flying with ANVIS goggles. I also ordered high quality although, I am not exactly sure what the specs are. I figure buy once, cry once as well. I don't want to be disappointed as I am probably an NVG snob.

Any reviews of TiborasaurusRex's YouTube Vids?

I have watched them all as well. Much of it was way over my head, but still very valuable. I need to watch some of them again. He is a solid dude for sure! I think he was in the Army, but he never says that. I just get the feeling from some of his vocabulary and such. I never plan to shoot at...

Mil value changes with range? How do you use it?

Thanks. I plan to get a first plane scope after I learn more. I am at the crawl stage. I have a REM 700 with a Millett scope. I think I need to learn the basics before I put more money into the scope. Cart before the horse and all...

Mil value changes with range? How do you use it?

OK, I am going to jump in here with a question at the risk of an ensuing beating! Yes, I am new at this. I have a second focal plane mil dot scope with .1 increments. The manual says the following: The scope is variable from 4X to 16X power. The Mil-Dotbar is set to be 1 mil at 10X on the...

New US Army Camouflage Selection Leaked

I might be drifting a bit here, but I think we have wasted tons of money outfitting people with equipment that they don't need. Look at all the gear the average Fobit wears these days-RIDICULOUS! I always liked the traditional Sailors uniforms as they were very practical and remained virtually...

    Importance of eye protection

I am glad to hear that you did not lose your eye. I always wear my protective gear, and I always carry a trauma kit with me to the range. The problem is that people think it won't happen to them. It is a human trait that has no connection to reality, but probably allowed us to take risks as...

When is enough $$ enough $$ for dog surgery?

How I see it My German Shep was my true friend. This dog went almost everywhere with me. He got spinal mylopithy and I held out until he could not walk then, I put him down. A really good veterinarian came to my house and did it there and a friend drove me to the crematorium where my dog was...

    any watchmakers or repairmen here

Many of those old pocket watch movements are true works of art. Watches are amazing machines, and like guns, the sky is the limit. Companies like Sinn and Damasko are on the cutting edge of technology and manufacturing processes. I visited the Sinn factory in Frankfurt. It was like heaven for...

Don't tell my Mother that I'm a pilot. She thinks I play piano in a whorehouse.

    any watchmakers or repairmen here

Go to timezone.com Go about halfway down the page on the right side. Time Zone Watch School. Look for the level 1 class. You buy a kit with tools and a basic movement to use for the online tutorial. It is a great introduction to watches. But be ware! Watches are extremely addicting.

    Best ballistic app for iPhone???

It looks like there will be a new Kestrel option loaded with Ballistics AE. I think I will wait to see how this plays out before sinking $700 into the system.

    Best ballistic app for iPhone???

I have Balistics AE on my IPhone. I need a Kestrel or similar to get my environmental data. Is it a waste of money to get the Kestrel with Horus? I have a MilDot Master and plan to get an FDAC ADAPTIVE for backup computations. I like having the ability to go old school in case the tech goes...

    More questions about zeroing

No, not at all. I fully understand that equipment does not make the shooter. But I can't carry my weapons with me as I fly around the world nor am I a Federal Flight Deck Officer so, I can't even carry my weapon in the States. I use my time on the road to work on whatever I can.

    More questions about zeroing

Very good point! It can be challenging to communicate on fora sometimes. I try to be short and concise when possible, but some topics are complicated. I don't want to be that guy who says he knows it all already. I have been shooting all of my life. I have also been to advanced level military...

    More questions about zeroing

I hear what you are saying. We have two variables at play. The rifle and the shooter. Theoretically at least, if your rifle can shoot 1/2 inch at 100 yards and you are a good enough shooter to not screw it up, then we have a better than MOA situation. Is it safe to say that 1 inch at 100...

    More questions about zeroing

Excellent! Thanks So, did you simply look through your scope at the points of impact and note the mils on your reticle for the 6 MOA? In this case, the rounds would have been 6 inches low before your elevation correction.
