    AR10 Ejection Issue

Hopefully some more details in response to your questions: When shooting through a magazine, I have to manually cycle the rifle after every shot. Specifically, after I fire the bolt goes back, but does not eject the spent round, rather re-chambers it back in the locked position. Occasionally...

    AR10 Ejection Issue

I really can't think of anything else that has changed. I double checked that it is indeed an AR10 PRS, and the buffer tube is not cross threaded.

    AR10 Ejection Issue

Yes. If I pull back the charging handle the bolt goes back far enough that I can push the bolt catch and it will hold the bolt open.

    AR10 Ejection Issue

Yep. If I pull back the charging handle with a mag in, the bolt locks open.

    AR10 Ejection Issue

Ok, I've attached some pics that might help. I noticed a few tiny pieces of brass in the barrel that you can see on the first picture which I have cleaned out. I cleaned upper and the BCG real well, and lubed then up. If I close the charging handle and manually slide the BCG in and out of...

    Left-handed AR15 Reccomendations

Hi all- I have a friend who is looking to buy a nice left handed AR15. Any recommendations from the left handed shooters out there on brands or specific models? I think he'd like something with the following characteristic is: -keymod or picatinny rail -16" barrel -adjustable stock -rail...

    AR10 Ejection Issue

Thanks for all the ideas. First off, I don't have an adjustable gas block, and I don't think it's leaking because it was working fine with the carbine stock. I was thinking perhaps a good test would be to put my carbine spring in with my rifle buffer and buffer tube. My hypothesis is that it...

    AR10 Ejection Issue

Hi all- I'm having an issue with my DPMS style .308 that I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with. So when I initially built it, I put on a DPMS adjustable stock with a carbine length buffer, tube, and spring. With this configuration my rifle was shooting great. A few months ago I...

    My new 308 Build

Hi all- I've finally almost finished my 308 build. I thought I would share a pic and details of it. I think the only thing I still need is a bipod, so any recommendations would be appreciated. Here is a quick build summary: -20" SS Rainier barrel -jp compensator -Troy 13" quad rail -Magpul...

    M4 Build Advice

Hi all- So last year I did my first AR build which was based on a custom dpms style AR10 style lower I picked up from a local provider here in CA. I'm very happy with how it turned out, and am looking to build an M4 style setup next. I've been looking around and there are so many different...

    Rifle Scopes Scope mount recommendation

Hi all- I have a DPMS .308 with a 13" Troy rail, and am planning on buying a Weaver Grand Slam Tactical 3-10x 40mm from MidwayUsa. I'm pretty new to optics, so I'm looking on a recommendation on a scope mount that will work well for that scope, but isn't too expensive. Any recommendations...

    308 Bolt Catch Problem

Ya I just measured it and the buffer is 3 1/4" long, not 2 1/2". Can believe they packaged the wrong buffer in an item clearly labeled as a 308 carbine stock assembly. Ugh... Thanks everyone for all the help!

    308 Bolt Catch Problem

Ok I think I see the issue now. If I put just the buffer and bolt in the buffer tube you can see that it doesn't go back far enough to get behind the bolt catch. I guess this means that they must have sent me the wrong buffer :-(

    308 Bolt Catch Problem

Thanks ORD for the pick. I can now see that my bolt is not going back far enough. Any ideas why this would be? Perhaps Midwest shipped me an ar-15 stock assembly?

    308 Bolt Catch Problem
