Just got my LabRadar. Haven't been able to take it out yet, but the primary 'check mark'/confirm button sticks inside the housing. Anyone else have this/will it go away with time? Rest of unit seems to work short of taking it to the range, but concerned on a $500+ chrono that this will remain...
Not yet - have in hand but work's been hectic, now turning out I won't make it out this past weekend or the one coming up, so haven't rushed to install the new one just yet.
Missed the first part, but yes, the Aero slipped the second time w/rosin applied, torqued w/Borka wrench. Have a support case open, but really, what good is a replacement mount when it's now scuffed 4k of optics? May well be the combination of rifle (MDR) + mount, or - no idea. Have yet to...
This is what I'm hoping for, but I think it takes a while for the market to mature to get there. As pointed out by KSE, and indirectly by others, building an 'all in one' for mil or high civilian $$$$ nets repeat business. How many have jumped to latest night vision/thermals in the hopes of...
Thanks, didn't know that about CST or MH, will think on that route if nothing else turns up of note. As wjm mentioned, Spuhr does FDE but not in a cantilever mount, and was hoping I might have missed a solid alternate option. RE Geisselle - wish I could see one in person..I have little doubt...
Might be in the wrong section, but have looked until blue in the face. Short version - yeah, I don't particularly want to rattle can a not-inexpensive mount, while if I say I'll cera/duracoat it, it'll take forever and I'd rather be shooting. Had an Aero Ultralight which has now slipped on me...
Have worked in tech forever, and think there are a lot of things that COULD be done, some of which probably will be, but I do think rifle optics have some special considerations. For those throwing big $ at replacing optics yearly, perhaps it won't matter, but consider how often most of us...
Camera lenses tend to be more open to the environment and not sealed, so much more likely to happen. Most optics are sealed from the environment, nitrogen/gas filled, etc...even though I question the longevity of the gas, rifle scopes still remain more or less sealed off from the external...
Overthinking it to some point. If you can spot how far off you are with your optic, then it doesn't matter - adjust by X (Mil or MOA) and shoot again. If shooting with a spotter w/reticled spotting scope, I'm not sure I've seen many (any? Have to be some somewhere, I suppose) MOA based...
I'd add the DMR2 3.5-21 to the above list, and probably remove the Leupold. The new Leupold VX5HDs are getting solid reviews but are a bit out of your price range AFAICT. I'd also drop the SFP Nightforce - just no reason IMO for SFP higher mag optics short of benchrest/always shooting at the...
Yep, a $ fix for what should be a recall or warranty service. Unimpressed by DT's choosing to go this route on this. Will pick one up, but not happy about how DT is handling this as the stuck cases is a very commonly reported issue - 'battle rifle' my ass, as it certainly can't shoot reliably...
Haven't lost interest, at least not yet. Rifle can't shoot either PPU Match or IMI Match ammo at all - rips the rim off the cases/stick cases/needs to be smacked out of chamber. It shoots crappy Malaysian Surplus ball w/out issues to date - have 100+ rounds of that through it w/out issue. Next...
Depends on usage. Personally, I wouldn't likely get another spotter w/out reticle, as a buddy and I are often spotting for each other, and the spotter reticle makes it a lot easier to call in adjustments to the shooter. They can also be used to do ranging, although many now prefer a laser...
Wondering if this is an issue on the green vs red firedots (mine is red)? I think the Trij 1-8 has a similar issue, although from what I hear, neither Trij reticle, red or green, is near daylight bright.
Here's a sort of 'info thread' I wrote up when was going through the same thing not very long ago, although in this case, it's only FFP options, but I think I listed some 8-10 of them: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/1-8x-ffp-options.6803933/
Which reticle in the VX6? I have one of the 'original' VX6 Multigun Firedot 'SPR' reticles and I've yet to have the dot wash out. Have used Razors - still have the Leupold on my 3gun rifle. Nothing wrong w/the Razor - it's nice and probably 50% or more of the 3 gunners are running one. Have...
No. It was on my list for future consideration but wasn't available when I came across a decent deal on a Minox ZP8, as they seem to have just become available. Have yet to see any reviews on them, but have some general interest in it - it looks close to the PA Platinum all around down to the...
Was your Firedot red or green, and which reticle? My Firedot SPR is approaching Aimpoint bright - have yet to have it wash out, and never run it full brightness. Also love the auto-shut-off and back on - I wish every scope mfgr would follow suit. No arguments on the Razor HD - probably...
