    Tango 51 KIlls Armed Assailant

I wouldn't pass judgment either way on this one yet. The wife, or "hostage", claims that she was never in danger of physical harm and that her husband had no weapon of any kind. Claims that she repeatedly told the cops that he had no weapon and that he wouldn't come out because he was afraid...

Reasons for you taking bolt-action over semi-auto?

so does a guy slowly running a bolt attract more attention at distance than an empty shell ejected from an auto flying through the vegetation? Very true. But, for a guy like the OP who states "I'm a rather new shooter to precision shooting", would you recommend a bot gun or a semi for him to...

    Tango 51 KIlls Armed Assailant

Yep, tables are already turning. The "hostage's" brother tweeted this earlier today: get the story straight. my sister was not a hostage and my brother in law wasn't a danger to himself or no one else and my sister kept telling the police that. he had schizophrenia and was off his meds. he was...

    Tango 51 KIlls Armed Assailant

Ummm, I don't have a dog in this fight, but LACSD has a track record that is just as bad. They killed an innocent man "mistakenly" during their last hostage situation 2 weeks ago, and the same "experts" killed another innocent during a hostage situation 3 months before that; Sheriff's official...

    Tango 51 KIlls Armed Assailant

Wait till the girlfriend (who was yelling out the window for help right before the shot was fired) changes sides and testifies against the police; you know its going to happen, it always does in these domestic cases when police use force. What kind of conundrum will they face if it turns out...

    Rifle Scopes meopta

I had a Meostar on a hunting rifle I gave to my brother in-law. The optical quality is EXCELLENT for the price and it always returned to zero. But, the eye relief was just too short for me. They claimed it was 3.5", but I found it to be right at 3". Any scope with eye relief 3" or under is just...

    Tango 51 KIlls Armed Assailant

werd But I think most folks are grossly overreacting in this thread. This was a police sharpshooter who handled a hostage situation. This was not Ruby Ridge or careless cops shooting up LA for the fun of it.

    Moa

Dammmm. I have have never shot a 1" 400yd 5-shot group in my life (or seen one shot), but everyone at the hunting camp does it at 1000 yards with a $400 savage and a Tasco scope with 30-06 Corlokts - just get a couple Naty-Lights in them and they will tell you all their secrets. Apparently...

Deprime before or after tumbling? (Newbie)

I tumble first, then deprime/size, then put them in my sonic cleaner for a little bit to remove lube.

    6.5 Creedmoor

The factory Hornady 140gr Amax loads from the new lot I just bought are impressive. But, when you start stretching the distance out, my 139gr Scenar loads start putting the Hornady factory stuff to shame. Still, this has to be the best mass-produced factory ammo ever made; sub 1/2moa at 100...

    TAC30 Action

TAC30s are not the most expensive or cool-looking actions out there, but they are 100% good to go and shoot just as good as actions that cost twice as much. I have never seen one that needed additional work.

    Preferred Mfg'd 6.5 Creedmoor ammo.

The hornady 140 and 120 factory loads are all sub-MOA in my rifles. My handloads easily cut those groups in half though.

    Rifle Scopes Compact Hunting Scope

I would look for a much bigger objective than 32 for hunting at 600 yards.

Rifle Scopes Same old question NF vs USO

I own the USO you are comparing to. I don't own a Beast, but do own 3 ATACRs. The glass on the ATACR is better than the USO IMHO, so the Beast should also be better.

    stiller action chasis/stocks

All of my Stiller Tac30 actions fit the 700 stocks BETTER than the Remington actions do!!!! No skim bedding required in the chassis systems.

Rifle Scopes What is the real word difference? (FFP and SFP)

I have no issues using both for target shooting. If a target is far enough away to NEED to range with the reticle, I like the accuracy of doing it at full power anyway, negating the need for FFP. Also, If I have time to range an object in my scope, calculate the distance, and get my ballistic...

First Build, 22" 6.5 Creedmoor. Thoughts?

My 6.5CM were always 26" and benchrest guns. Recently I had a hunting rifle and a tac rifle built with 22" barrels. My 22" tac rifle is almost an exact replica of your build plan and I am extremely pleased with it. I have found that, like 308, 6.5CM does very well in short barrels. All of my...
