In virtually every variable scope with a 1x, you end up giving up a lot on the high end magnification to get a good 1x. Id take the 2-10 and throw an offset red dot if you're worried about 1x engagment distances.
So Ive shot it. Now, I should preface this by saying that I believe Black Hills to be the gold standard. AAC's is good for the price, but it had some significant consistency issues when compared to BH. Thats to be expected with PSA. Its budge friendly. But where BH really proves worth the cost...
I'm just here to throw my support for light(er)weight MPVOs. Particularly if it can have low profile turrets. I'm just finding more and more that I would much rather have an offset/piggy back MRDS than any 1x setting on an LPVO.
Not the same man. At least from what I've seen and experienced, PSA's match grade ammo hasnt been as consistent, nor has it been getting as much velo. I aint knocking it cus sub $1 a round for 77gr SMK is a solid offering, but it also isnt the same as Black Hills quality.
So, I'll be blunt: I'm not going to buy a LPVO that starts at 1x. Ever. At this point, I think they're utterly pointless, as so much effort goes into making it as usable as possible at 1x that it usually looks like looking through a needle at the top end. To that end, I would love to see a...
What a garbage lawsuit. I hope someone sues Trijicon for making scopes with metal tubes. They're just angry that manufacturers are passing them in product development, because they were too busy making a 2lb VCOG and not innovating anything new.
Looking for recomendations. Recently built a nice, lightweight SPR style rifle. Tried my old Vortex 2-10x. My groups are solid, but the optic left a lot to be desires. So I bought a Sig Tango4 4-16x. It's a decent scope with some nice features, but man, this thing bulky and long. I need an...
Do they really matter? Besides being out of spec, is there any accuracy advantage in building an AR with an expensive lower vs. something milspec and relatively cheap (i.e. Anderson or PSA)?
