    Few questions about modifying KAC SR25

    Doable and no real drawbacks. Melvin Purvis is the one to shorten the barrel and can dimple it also, I believe Boltcarrier uses him for barrel work, gas block is fine but port may need drilling. The KAC suppressor works good but the biggest drawback is that they are caliber specific, the 5.56...

    I'd make that trade in a heartbeat, the ECC is basically a black M110K1 and once KAC completes the backorders there won't be any more civilian ones made. And that dimpled barrel is sexy.

    Building a new long range LR-308 - 1000 yard gun

    USMC is using MK11's and M110's with 1:11.25 twist. They are upgrading all of these to M110K1 configuration with 1:11.25 16" barrels which tested better with 175 SMK's out to 1200 meters than the M110's with their 20" barrels.

    Any hope at all for an M1 carbine?

    Good ammo makes a world of difference, a JSP load is quite effective. Also you can replace the handguard with something like a Ultimak rail and use a reddot or scope without a permanent modification. The M1 has always been somewhat underrated, feed it good ammo and within it's range limitations...

    SCAR barrels other than 16"

    IMO KAC has had better luck turning the M110 into a battle carbine that can fill in as a sniper rifle than FN has had turning the SCAR 17 into a sniper rifle. For some reason there seems to be little intrest in either the industry or the military for SCAR PIP's. As the current war winds down who...
