Saker 762 in the Q - picked up an Octane 45 about a month ago - all from them. Good experience - didn't get any ammo, stickers or shirts.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
All the points so far a valid - I am a new "precision" shooter - have shot a lot of .308 in my time - but I really enjoy shooting the 6.5 I just stocked up on factory ammo which I find shoots just fine if I do my part - I will start to reload very soon to see if I can dial it just a bit more...
Noted!! Thank you - have a can of it sitting in a box next to the T-7 along with powder, bullets, primers, Hornady decapping-die, case blocks, saturn powder funnels..... All I need is dies, power measure/trickler/scale and some knowledge... (getting a little fatigued reading - want to start...
Okay - this is helping me - so the Redding #58155 is a 3 die set looking at the Midway page (figures on back order) So I understand - using this kit would be 2 step process to size the case correct ? full length size then bushing neck size or is the proper order reverse of that? (after that...
Spooky - I am about at the same stage/place as you are - only thing I really lack are dies and I have a question for Chris Everybody says the redding dies are bad ass and I am going for MAX precision here, I also understand redding dies are expensive -but you get what you pay for - with that...
I think I would go with a JEC for a brake only - I did a AAC 51T on one of my .308 bolt guns - I have not ran a JEC, but I understand from research and talking with some folks they are hard to beat.
I am using this table top kit from Manfrotto - it even has a ball head. The "table top kit" has an extension - but I don't use it in this setting. The non kit is just the table top tripod. Here you can see it setup on a bench with my Kowa scope on it - nice and low to the bench-top.
I picked up a lb of IMR4350 at the gun show today in Dallas - they had a bunch of it paid 32 also got some IMR 4895 and IMR 4064. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Welcome to the world of 1911 - IMHO nothing else feels like it your hand. enjoy!! (I am very happy with my springfield) Check out the folks over a vzgrips for some bad-ass functional grips - it can give you that "personalized" look and feeling. I added them to mine and they work/function great!
Good question - been looking and researching this myself and have seen it done both ways in various videos. send down/off the old checkering and logos etc. or just stipple right over it. Now I just need to find the "best" tool to do it - some of those stipple jobs really come out nice and...
I was in the same predicament as you are a few months ago with a 308 - I did some research and my conclusion was to find a smith and have some threads added. He threaded and added an AAC 51T. I did consider one from Grizzly Gun Works but in the end I went the threaded route. Not really...
