My first center fire rifle was a Remington 700 BDL in .243. It was purchased in 1968 and I still have it. It shoots pretty good with the ammo it likes and has not had any modifications at all.
I have a JP LRP-07H and it is an excellent rifle. The 07H is a package which had everything I wanted in a 308 AR. In 2010 it was ~$3100 out the door. They still offer this package which comes with an 18 inch barrel, sling and one piece scope mount and other accessories. Check it out at their...
The subject Remington 700 BDL in 243 was the very first center fire rifle I aquired. I believe it was ~ 1968/69 and I was about 16 years old. Anyway the attached target was shot yesterday at 200 yards with factory remington 100 gr core-lokt PSP ammo. As you can see the the first three cold...
Attached is the picture of my LRP-07H with the JP mount. It actually came with the LRP-07H package when it was purchased in 2010 - it still shows as an accessory with that package on the JP website. JP Rifles You will like the JP mount. Al
I have a JP one piece mount on my LRP-07H. It is very solid and well built. It holds a NF NXS 3.5-15 I will post a picture when I get to the computer tomorrow. Al
I have a 1-4x24 Trijicon AccuPoint with green TR24 triangle reticle mounted to a 416 Rem mag. scope handles the recoil with no problem and I really like it. It cost about $800 last year Al
What would be the pros and cons for using the mlr2.0 recticle or the mildot recticle with the NF F1 scope? I would think that this would be a prsonal preferance but was thinking there may be other issues I am not familiar with. Thanks Al
I agree that the NF F1 with appropriate mil/moa dot recticle is an excellent choice. How would the NF F1 scope recticle quality compare with a simlar recticle in the Lupy Mk-6 3-18 scope. The lupy scope does look a little lighter but the important thing to me is the recticle and glass quality. Al
I appreciate all of the comments and suggestions and I am slowly narrowing down my choice of the new scope for the 300 WM rifle. I will wait untill after tax season to do the actual purchase but I am planning on a FFP scope like the NF F1 or a similar Lupy. I still have decide upon the recticle...
Thank you for all your comments and suggestions. The group pictured was shot at 200 yards but I have yet to find the best load for the rifle. Since I have not yet started reloading I have to depend upon factory loads. Al
I have a NF NXS and it is the first high end scope I ever owned. It is very clear but you do have to follow the instructions in the owners manual to ensure maximum clarity- ask me how I know LOL. You set the power ring to the highest magnification and the parallax/focus knob to infinity ...
The rifle shown in the attached pictures was built on a Sako 338 win mag receiver. We sent the receiver to Douglas and had a 24 inch 1/10 premium barrel installed. We then sent the barreled receiver to Macmillan and had the stock added. It shoots very well and seems to like the 178 gr...
I really wanted an accurate autoloader in 308/7.62 and after checking into all available factory rifles I decided upon the JP LRP-07H. The H model had all the options I wanted and it was priced right so I went ahead and purchased it. I put a NF scope on it and absolutely love this scope - it was...
Range report The attached target is from a recent trip to the range using the 178 gr AMax load. Put 3 rounds into 1 1/8 inch at 200 yards. I would like to try the heavier factory loads to see if the rifle likes those. Al
300 Win Mag Project -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wanted to share a few pictures of my recent project. It was built on a Sako 338 win mag receiver. We sent the receiver to Douglas and had a 24 inch 1/10 premium barrel installed.We...
