I think your first set of loads with the IMR 4064 are going to get pretty hot past 43 grains pushing a 155 grain projectile, be careful with that one. I use IMR 4064 in my 308 and usually don't go past 43.5 grains pushing a 165 grain projectile.
I have used and continue to use my vibratory tumbler with walnut media, gets all my cases looking brand new, even the primer pockets. Call me old fashioned.........
I would suggest IMR 4064 for loading .308 loads. As for how much to load, please consult your reloading guides, Lyman, Sierra, Hornady, Lee, etc. for the correct charges.
Was keeping an eye on gunbot today and Natchez Shooter Supplies posted that they had VARGET in 8 lb jugs for $176. Managed to pick one up, so I'll be back into loading up my 223 again!
I have a bunch of experience hand loading 308, but not for your particular rifle. You need to work up your loads for your rifle and find out what it likes the best. Start low and work up in .5 grain increments. Then once you find a load that works well, i.e. gives you a good group, then refine...

I've used IMR 4064 exclusively in all of my 308 rifles for years and have never had any issues with it. I use IMR 7828 in my 338 LM and it really likes the stuff. IMR is a great powder to use. Oh there are powder snobs out there that will boast about this powder or that powder being the best...
I've been keeping an eye on gunbot all day at work by keeping an extra tab open on my IE, checking it frequently, and have been somewhat successful in obtaining powders I have needed. I have also been checking my local gun stores two or three times a week, and sometimes can find something I can...
Greetings! My name is Paul, and I currently reside in the panhandle of Florida, however I am a Texan by the grace of God. I work for an aerospace company supporting vertical lift assets in this part of the country. I have a keen interest in long distance shooting, in fact I have had this...
