It is my understanding that a weaver mount will fit fine on a Picatinny rail, however one cannot attach a picatinny mount to a weaver rail. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=10724/learn/Picatinny_Rails__Weaver_Rails__What_s_The_Difference_ But here is a summary if you don't feel like reading...
I had a pair of these rings on a Weatherby 7mm and they worked just fine. I've since sold the rifle, but I don't think the scope ever lost its zero or came loose. Weatherby and Browning also puts their name on Talley rings, which is an endorsement of its own. I also have the Talley steel...
Try doing an OCW test. If you are unfamiliar with this concept, here is a link. OCW Overview - Dan Newberry's OCW Load Development System When I did this test with 168 SMK's, I came up with 44.4gr. But anywhere from 44 - 44.5 grains shot very well. I also got very good results with 46...
I've am having good luck with IMR 4350 and 95gr. Berger Classic Hunter bullets in my Win 70 featherweight. This is the only powder I've tried, but it works very well.
If she really likes the HK, then it stands to reason she will enjoy practicing with it more than a gun she doesn't like and will be more excited about the purchase. And HK definitely makes a quality product.
The only concern that comes to mind is the DA/SA trigger. It takes a lot of training to become proficient with this system, way more than if each trigger pull is the same. When shooting under time constraints or under pressure, it's real easy to drop the first shot (DA) low.
I would lean towards Manners due to the overwhelming number of positive customer service comments and the reputation they've gained for building a high quality stock.
I've been using Titegroup with 165gr with outstanding accuracy. Also Really like this powder for 45 acp. I use Hodgdon's listed max loads. Also, it's super clean burning.
No, your gun should not do this. Take it to a competent gunsmith, preferably one who knows how to work on 1911's, and have him adjust the extractor. This should fix your problem.
I shot Varget in the .308 until it became unavailable. So, like many others, I switched to what was readily available. I've found IMR 4064 to work very well and haven't had any trouble finding it. You won't be disappointed with 4064.
I think you will find this write-up to be informational and will hopefully help to answer some of your questions. http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/sniper-hide-gunsmithing/37176-objective-research-barrel-break-procedures.html
1. DA/SA 2. Slide won't consistently or reliably lock back for ME if using a thumbs forward grip. At least this has been my experience with the three I've owned. But as soon as I switched to a thumb over thumb grip, no problems at all with slide lock. Never had this issue with Glock or any...
My experiences have shown the same. Another reason to load in the upper range, but not necessarily the absolute maximum, is to take advantage of the full capabilities of the caliber. For example, if you are going to load a slow 300 win mag, why not just shoot a standard 30-06 load. If you...
I found 3 nodes using 175 Berger OTM from a Rem700 24" bbl. 41.8 (Dan Newberry's data). Then after performing an OCW test, I found two other nodes; 42.9 and 44.5gr of IMR 4064, Lapua cases and Fed 210. 41.8 velocity was 2552 with SD of 20 (6 shots) Was about a 1" group with flyer (all me)...
