    The only concern that comes to mind is the DA/SA trigger. It takes a lot of training to become proficient with this system, way more than if each trigger pull is the same. When shooting under time constraints or under pressure, it's real easy to drop the first shot (DA) low.

    I've been using Titegroup with 165gr with outstanding accuracy. Also Really like this powder for 45 acp. I use Hodgdon's listed max loads. Also, it's super clean burning.

    No, your gun should not do this. Take it to a competent gunsmith, preferably one who knows how to work on 1911's, and have him adjust the extractor. This should fix your problem.

    IMR 4064 vs varget for 308

    I shot Varget in the .308 until it became unavailable. So, like many others, I switched to what was readily available. I've found IMR 4064 to work very well and haven't had any trouble finding it. You won't be disappointed with 4064.
