Is anyone aware of a company offering (good) factory ammo with either the Hornady 73 or 75 grain ELD-Ms in .22-250? I can’t find anyone. I’m “not allowed” to reload for this rifle. If the .22 versions of that bullet are anything like the 6mm versions I really really want to try them.
I’ve never really struggled with target acquisition or staying on target. Heck, most of the time for those close ones I’m not even at low power. You likely have to pop the far one first wherever it may be so I end up Just reaching up and crank it quick to wherever it ends up just as long as...
Callings changed a lot since 1987. Hell, since 2007! Ill just leave it at that! And what females are protecting dens in Jan/Feb!?!?!? Pairing and mating, not denning. Your timelines a bit off.
I do like my Kenetreks in the real mountains. But they’re overkill in milder country. Not to mention they’re ridiculous expensive anymore. I bought a pair of Zamberlans Lynxs I think they’re called last year. So far I like them. Just wish they were a little taller. I like a 8-10” boot. Kind...
Had this rifle built two years ago and have just been tickled pink with it. Trued up 700 in an XLR chassis. Shooting the 108 Hornady eld-m at around 3080 fps. Its killed now from shotgun distance to 760 yards. I quit counting at 200 but it has to be approaching 300 coyotes now and I’ve only...
Count your blessing than as you have either, a lot of coyotes, and/ or a lot of unexploited coyotes. The average distance increases dramatically over winter with every Tom Dick and Harry screaming at em since Thanksgiving! The game has certainly changed over the last 20 years. And don’t get...
I run energizer rechargeables. My caller sees a lot of hours and lithiums would break me. Theyll last all week in the summer (using it every morning for 2-6 hours usually). They’ll run a whole day in the winter, even at -20.
I’d much rather have a triple deuce fifty in my hands, but there’s nothing wrong with .223 WITH the right bullets. Stay away from bullets designed to vaporize p-dogs, they often under perform greatly in coyotes (this is a good habit to get into regardless if cartridge). 50 and 55 Nosler...
