Rifle Scopes .004" scope cant

Wouldn't it be .004 at 10ft as well as 1000 yards depending of course if its canted or just not center?

If its canted change your rings, unless your rail is canted? If so mounting a scope just got crazy involved.

We're all going to need to get a granite table, indicator, height stand, and a square setup for our rifles to indicate our scope rails true with the action before we mount a scope.

That's assuming the bore of the barrel is true to the center line of the action, and the centerline of the action is parallel to the od of the action?

Then again all of this would only matter if we were shooting on an indoor 1000 yard range.....?

Come on. You know its not. How in the hell could you measure a 4 thousandths of an inch cant. Even if the OP actually did it, when out in the field shooting, there is more error than that lining up a bubble level. The OP is not being serious. He is trolling you guys with this question.

So lets say he is not trolling...

if you measure .004 different from one side to the other. In reality you would only be off by .002 because you would only correct it by .002 to make both sides the same.

With that being said i will guess .002 is smaller than you can measure(unless you have access to propper equipment). Either way you will never notice .002 or even .004. Most people are using levels and never measure like you are trying to do. Go out and shoot
 
The cant in the word problem is moot. His variables are no different than how many MILS is 3.6" @1000 yards. There is an answer even if it is .00012 mils for the OP.
