1-10 or 1-12 twist for a 308AR?

Does it make any difference? If so what would it be since I have my choice?

Go with a 10 or 11 twist. It will allow you to shoot a larger range of bullet weights and shoot them well.

This. Especially if you're going with a shorter barrel.

Plus, it's nice to have the extra twist to stabilize a heavier (longer) bullet in the event you need the extra length for fine tuning your OAL...

I have a Noveske 1-10 twist 21 inch barrel and it shots every bullet from 155 to 175 in less than 1/2 MOA at 100 yds and the 175 make it to 950 easily with 43 GR of varget in a winchester case.

I have a 1 in 11 Broughton on my build. Handles 168's and 175's equally well.
