Hey folks, school me up quick on something…
I went to order a Lilja recce barrel. The 15.1” length the supplied for one iteration of the NSW Recce rifle. Lilja tells me the only make those in “drop-in ready” format in a 1:8 twist.
I thought the NSW Recce was a 1:7 for the mk262 ammo and heavier, no?
Were the barrels they supplied for the NSW Recce Rifle in fact 8 twist? If so I’m guessing they will handle the 77 SMK fine?

I know others make a Recce barrel in 7 twist but I just really like Lilja and was surprised they were 8 twist.

Any experts care to set me straight and/or opine on how an 8 twist will
So with mk262 ammo? I’ve also got a lot of Barnes 70 tsx (so fun!!!)

I wouldn’t use a CLGS either, as it makes no sense, especially for that blaster with a suppressor or naked.

I would chamber it in something that hits steel harder if you really want to enjoy it as well.

As long as it looks like this, you’ll be fine from the outside:

I get it. I’ve read similar posts about going heavier. ..seriously debating it.

I’ve got a clone correct CAG/NSW RECCE. 16” lilja, KAC M4 Match (aka FF RAS) milspec NF 2.5-10x32, prototype m249f flasher and all. Been thinking about a SAM-R or 15.1 in 22arc or something but I’m trying to stay out of the clone/ar15 game. So I get it.

Modern 80gr 223/556 are doing more than most shooters are capable enough. I’ve seen a ridgeline hit at 1000yds with 80gr ammo.

I love me some .mil clones and appreciate the work that goes into doing a correct build. But we’ve come a long ways in tech. I’d get the Lilja and try some different ammo. I think you’ll find out that Hornady Tap and some newer loads will serve you better
