As the title states, anyone spun a barrel this way? My burner barrel has about 4000 rounds on it and after the stack of m80 here is gone, I intend to swap. Looking at going from 18" 1:10 barrel with rifle gas to 20" 1:11 with a +1 gas. Thinking a sendero profile, use a .750" gasblock and keep the muzzle end light.

Just looking for insight, if anyone had decent results.

Running a 5x prism optic with m80 bdc. Looking to use the #2190 sierra bthp and keep similar trajectory. Engagements are no farther than 600. Optic gives a vague 700 stretch.

Notion is, would leave open door for swapping to a variable glass with precision reticle and loading some 168 or 175 matchkings for 600 to 1000 rangework.

Thank you.

I've haven't seen to many people run a +1 or +2 gas system on a .308 unless they have a 24" or longer barrel.

Your current 18" barrel with rifle length gas is about as good as it's going to get.

I have given that thought. It is handy and gives up little. However, I also wonder if the extra two inches with a slower twist may be the ticket.
