Well, I have decided that with the problems I have encountered with my 10-22 to 10-17 conversion, I am looking for a used 22 barrel to install in the gun to make it a 10-22 again.
When I feel like I might want to tackle the 17 again, I might go back to it, but right now I want it back to 22.
Any of the members here have a good barrel from a conversion or build, I will be interested in purchasing it. Just the standard barrel will be fine.
I still have all my old parts, but the barrel had a whole lot of rounds through it, and needs replacing.

Dan at Hawktech Arms is selling Massaged factory barrels for 99 bucks and they will shoot with the Volqaurtzen barrels . My pard builds them for him and I have seen first hand what they will do .

It takes a lot of rounds to wear out a 22 RF barrel. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 50,000 rounds in a target barrel before accuracy becomes unacceptable for target use. My guess is that you need to give it a good cleaning or you somehow damaged the crown by cleaning from the muzzle end with a metal cleaning rod.

Sure hope you are not one of those folks who have damabed the bore like I have seen some people do by dropping a 10 cent bullet in the gravel, sand or concrete, and pick it up and ruin a valuable barrel by sending it down the barrel with all the sand and or grit it picked up.
