10/22 stock

Aside from being butt ugly is there a disadvantage to using a Hogue stock for a 10/22 build?

It wont free float the barrel and even if you open the channel up it will still touch.

Check out the boyds tacticool. IMO one of the best stocks you can get for the 10/22.
