Re: 10 mm handload
I remember when Mike McNett was posting at GlockTalk and it got me to use 800X in 10mm. I had nothing but good things to say about him. Later he formed Double Tap. It has been less than 10 years, I would guess he not changed his stripes and is still a great guy.
The Alliant book load for 200 gr Blue Dot is 8.9 gr.
With an aftermarket barrel, I can only get 13.25 gr to fit.
That is an over load, but it is still a wimpy load, with lots of muzzle flash.
In an effort to find the most power posssible, I have experimented with 180gr and 200 gr.
I have experimented with STEEL, LONGSHOT, Blue Dot, Enforcer, AA#9, Power Pistol, H110, 3N37, and N105.
The most power is with 800X and 200 gr, but it is a pain to meter.
The next best choice is Power Pistol and 200gr.
If you have poor case support, you must work up loads, and look at each fired case before proceeding. The ability to idenify a guppy belly case bulge is required.
