As soon as i saw the new 105g Berger's Announced I knew i needed a new barrel so i could shoot them.

ends up my buddy Joe not only had an extra barrel but also 1200 extra bullets. well that was a no-brainer on my part decision made. He was even nice enough to drive up to Georgia to drop off all the parts with Jered at APA

Flash forward a few months and I get my gun back

I recieved it on Feb 11th right before i went out of town for a few days. I was finally able to shoot the gun this past wednesday.

I loaded up some ammo in .5g increments from 40 to 42g of H-4350 with Lapua brass and the 105g hybrids jumping them .15 thousands

I zeroed the gun and fired the rounds

i was pretty happy with the results

now that she is bloodied and ready its time to take it over to K&M this weekend.

Jered thanks again for making load development so easy, by far the easiest and quickest i have done, you took the fun out of it in fact

I settled on 42g, I am going to tweak seating depth a hair and see if anything changes at 300yd

I am at 3090fps </div></div>

Nice, how longs your barrel?

Re: 105g Hybrids and APA 243

Thats extremely impressive near the same BC as the 115gr VLD. More updates man keep em coming. These hybrids are quite intriguing. I have .30 cal 168gr ready to go whenever i can get around to them.

Re: 105g Hybrids and APA 243

Hornady tends to have some great price/performance bullets. If i wasn't so obsessed with the edge of BC Berger has over most i'd be shooting hornady

Re: 105g Hybrids and APA 243

I snagged 500 of the the 105 Amax and 200 of the 105 BTHP Match Blems from Midway at a SCREAMING deal.

By the time they are all gone, it will be time to rebarrel and by then, my technique should be moving along quite nicely.

Still have about 300 of the 105 VLD's but nothing I've got will shoot them very well

In my .243 youth model we had some luck i guess. I know the VLD's are known to finicky to seating depth and distance to the lands etc. But 40gr of IMR 4350 and the 105gr hunting VLDs @ 2.792 shot surprisingly well, just over 1/2 MOA.

Re: 105g Hybrids and APA 243

I wanna say it's 1/10 but i'm honestly not sure. My friend swears it's 1/10. Dad got it for me in the 90s when i was around 6 or 7 so some odd 14 or 15 years ago. It's always shot 100gr bullets well though.
