When I get back home from my deployment I will soon me the proud owner of a Southwest Precision Rifle[http://www.swpcustom.com/](R700 trued action, Schneider M40 22", 20 MOA base, AICS 1.5). Initially I will start off with the Springfield Armory (I know that they have a horrible reputation, but mine has lasted over 10 years with no issues) that is currently on my FN PBR 18". I am looking to find a good 10x fixed power to put on my new build so I can return the SA to the FN.

Scope Needs:
-10x
-Mil reticle(Hashes or dots)
-I would like Mil adjustments but I can work with MOA
-Adjustability for 1000yd engagements
-Under $900

Things that are not issues:
-Illuminated reticle
-Side or Rear Focus

I have been looking at that 10x line of IOR and SWFA:
SWFA HD 10x42

IOR 10x42

IOR 10x56

What are yall's recommendations? I am not looking to buy anything for probably 6 months, so I have plenty of time for suggestions and follow on research.

Thanks

I have had good experiences with both the SS and the IOR units. Unless you are going to be doing a lot of low light stuff, I do not see you needing a 56mm objective lens. The IOR is heavier and likely tougher than the SS and IMO the glass is better but you are likely to be happy with either.

While I think that the MP 8 is a better tactical reticle, I'm going to have to go with the SS HD here.
Just the fact that the SS has matching reticle/adjustments makes it a no brainer.
