I decided to see how good 118LR is so I took some data readings here is what I found: 2010 head stamp 1 box of 20 rounds, the oal measured off the ogive had a 0.005" spread with the majority being 0.002" or less, the powder charge seems to be 44g and was also very consistant, most were with in 0.2g+- but the extreme spread was less than 0.75g. Keep in mind this was a sample of 20 rounds (I didnt feel like pulling any more). I shot these in a GAP built rifle and had very good results around 1/2 moa out to 200M. My only complaint was the sealer they use is very heavy and must be applied to the inside of the neck or the bullet before seating, which is why I have heard to break this before shooting and the accuracy will improve. I have yet to try it but I seated 10 rounds to my load specs for my chamber and am intrested in seeing how they shoot. Ill post those results next Sunday evening. I found this very interesting and thought I would pass along my findings. This is VERY good ammo.

It seems to be picky about the barrel. Both my .308s have a 6 groove barrel. One is a 1-12 Remington Varmint, the other is a 1-11 Douglas match on an M1a. It didn't like either of them, but a friend with a 4 groove 1-10 Krieger says it shoots lights out.

I recently did a comparisonand was also impressed with the consistency of M118LR. I chrono'd two 5 shot groups of 118LR and two 5 shot groups of Black Hills 175gr Match and these were the results:

    M700 w/118LR (26" barrel)
    AVG Muzzle Velocity: 2697 fps
    Standard Deviation: 23 fps
    Extreme Spread: 57 fps

    AR10 w/118LR(24" barrel)
    AVG Muzzle Velocity: 2623 fps
    Standard Deviation: 11 fps
    Extreme Spread: 26 fps

    M700 w/ B.H. 175 (26" barrel)
    AVG Muzzle Velocity: 2615 fps
    Standard Deviation: 35 fps
    Extreme Spread: 90 fps

    AR10 w/ B.H. 175(24" barrel)
    AVG Muzzle Velocity: 2564 fps
    Standard Deviation: 18 fps
    Extreme Spread: 48 fps

M118LR had much more consistent results when you look at the numbers compared to the Black Hills 175. My group sizes were roughly the same with both types of ammo though. 1 MOA out of the AR10 and .5 MOA with the 700. I haven't shot them both at long range out of the same gun enough to say which one has the edge at distance though.
