Rifle Scopes 11mm... Why CZ? - How to top with 30mm rings that aren't crap?

Just the other day I stumbled upon a CZ 455 Varmint in 17hmr that caught my eye. One of the first things I noticed was the ridiculous size rail on top. I understand that they make a 3/8th rail for a different market but this is a skinny 11mm. I brought it up to my local gunsmith before buying and he said would not run into any mounting issues, he usually has quite a bit in stock (warne and several very decent brands).

I was wait listed or a couple days so yesterday I finally took possession. He had nothing capable of mounting 30mm up top. I've looked around a bit and seen a few options, including what a few others have done in this situation.

So the question is would I be better off getting one of CZ's Leupold's or Warne's lower end rings or getting a CZ or DIP rail adapter? I havent seen the adapter from CZ in stock. Another problem is with height, Ill be mounting a Sigtron with a 56mm objective. If not possible, Ill use a Bushnell I have in 42mm (rather not). The majority of rings suited for this appear to be from crumby manufacturers and their is very limited offerings in size and sype from the brands I trust (eg. Warne). Would adding a pic adapter just weaken the entire setup?

Any suggestions? Other brands? Different mounting idea? Experiences?

Use a picatinny rail adapter. I use EGW and have no complaints. DIP sells them as well. You can get the rails with 20 or 25 MOA cant. Do a search on the rimfire section for CZ.

I was running the CZ rings, then the BKL-261 (both 1") , and now running the DIP (great as it uses any normal rings) - big thumbs up for DIP

Kelbly makes the best 11mm rail 30mm scope rings that I have found. They are plain, precise, and light. Not many other options exist for this configuration and most suck. It is also notable that unlike Anschutz or old Kimber of Oregon rifles CZ has a flat rather than domed 11mm rail and therefore many 3/8" rings work. I'm not sure how much this helps as I have always been looking for rings for the other two makes. Most folks seem to go with the DIP rail. I have never had this option as doing so does not allow for me to easily switch back and forth to a diopter sight.

I would NEVER put a picatinny there, that would be silly to make a sandvich solution out of it.

you have loads of nice solutions.
If you want tilt, you can go for Accuracy int mounts for 11mm dovetails , they are not that expensive.
You can go for rings like Warne, apel, sports match(really good farily cheap 11mm rings)
I would be surpriced if not the big opticsdealers would be able to help you.

I have a Murphy precision stainless base. You have to ask them to build one, but it is a great quality pic base.

The problem with keeping the integral base mount rings is that you are fairly limited on scope choice and eye relief. On my 527, for example, I have a Leupold Mark AR 4-12, and with the scope as far forward as the rings will allow, the optic is still too far back. My 455 with e a Sightron S1 on it is better, but still at the max forward position. Both will be getting Pic bases soon.

I used a pair of J&P on my CZ 452. They were a bitch to install but the mount is solid. Then I could use whatever rings I wanted. ( Burris Signature Zee rings in my case )

I got flustered after writing this post and impulse bought and overnighted these rings by CZ. They seem to have a few different types, some look rebranded and marked up.
These had a label underneath 'made by Czech Republic written in their language. I found it really odd that they use flathead for both the rail and ring caps. Seems really old school, I have no idea if that's standard in other areas. The rings match the Czech product label underneath, not the USA label.

Angle cube is nice to have around. I like the ability to zero a level. It has quite a strong magnet as well on 3 sides

I'm a little nervous about the 56mm though... These next two shots its not even completely tightened down. Not even close for enough room for the rubber caps that Sightron has. Any thought if this will be ok being steel rings and only 17hmr? Didn't get a chance to finish today (Saturday) but would like to be ready tomorrow.

It looks like more room here than it did in person. I didn't slip in feeler gauge so I'm not sure exactly. I'll measure tomorrow when I get back out. Any hard numbers to stick with in terms clearance for this setup?
