12 y.o. girl shoots home intruder

Re: 12 y.o. girl shoots home intruder

Once again, when seconds count, the police are minutes away.

Score one for the good guys, glad to see this little girl was unharmed, thanks for the post UKD.

"When I had the gun, I didn't think I was actually going to have to shoot somebody," the 6th grader recalled. "I think it's going to change me a whole lot, knowing that I can hold my head up high and nothing can hurt me anymore."

That is very cool. Mom keeping it in a practical place might have just saved that girls life. My kids will always no the danger of my guns but will also know how and what there used for is case they ever run into this kind of situation heaven forbid not.

Re: 12 y.o. girl shoots home intruder

I have a ten year old daughter that I am teaching to shoot, she's pretty darn good if I do say so.

Anyway, I catch flack every now and again when people see or find out that she is learning to shoot both long guns and hand guns. Her mother is probably my biggest hurdle, and continues to be. I personally do not care, my daughter will be able to defend herself if need be. If the time ever came that she needed to use a firearm to preserve her life or the life of another, she would have the skill and knowledge to do so.

Thumbs up to the family and this young lady!

Turbo I zeroed in on that qoute as well. Awesome. "nothing can hurt me anymore" translation: "I really don't have to be a victim just because I'm a girl."

That realization can and will change her whole life.

No one is gonna convince this little girl that guns are evil.

Re: 12 y.o. girl shoots home intruder

It seems that there have been a lot of these stories lately and possibly many others such as "pointing a gun and telling someone to get out or die" that have never been told.

You don't ever want it to come to that, but when it does you're happy to be armed.
