In an attempt to hunt down some 140 grain hybrids locally, someone suggested I look at the JLK line by Swampworks. The company history is appealing, and I appreciate the effort they put into making each round. However, there is next to nothing out there (or my Google fu is weak) on them besides a few hunting threads and some older info. Does anyone have the G7 B.C.'s for reach round? Never messed with a VLD round, but I did at least read these were less depth sensitive than some others.

I'd be loading for 6.5 CM, 1:8 twist, 24" AI factory AT barrel using H4350 and 205M primers in Lapua SRP brass. I have a match in less than a month so I'd need to order quick and get a load together and some practice in before hand. Otherwise I'll just snag some 130 Berger Hybrid AR's and go with an older load I have that works well.

Thanks in advance.

you can sometimes find 50-100 on here to try before you order a big batch from him

maybe you can call him and he'll have some extras but i wouldn't count on it

Wait time aside, do they live up to the hype? I understand there is no guarantee that bullet x works in gun y, but I'd put in an order for down the road if they perform half as well they do on paper.

I ended up with some 130's in a trade a while back and used them in a 6.5 Creedmoor. The G7 was around .320. They were not depth sensitive and have been the most accurate and consistent bullet I have tried to date in two different rifles. One was a criterion barreled savage and the other was a Schneider barreled Remington.

The G7 is .320 ???? Holy shit balls. The Berger 130 hybrids are around .287.....

I need to do more research, but jump still confuses me a little bit. I know with the Bergers I was .020" off the lands, I think that's set back. Is jump/jam the same or different??
typically we jump. .020 give or take AWAY from the lands. but some bullets seems to like around .065

benchrest guys or guys fireforming typically jam .015 or so INTO the lands

I shot many thousands of the 130 for a 6.5x47. Good bullets, and I still have a few thousand or so. From memory I was using a .300-.305 bc for mine. As has been stated, gonna need to plan ahead if you want to use them. Swampy takes orders, then does a run of them.

I was fortunate enough to score 600 of the 130s from a member here. When they arrive I’m gonna try them out and get on the list if they shoot half as good as people say.
