130 RDF Seating Depth Test Questions

I have a batch (non-blem same lot) of Nosler 130RDF's that I am working up a load for. I am heading to the range tomorrow for the 10-round powder charge test, and when I get back I will load a set for the seating depth test. I am running a 6.5x47 Lapua with IMR 4451. 26" barrel, 1 in 8 Twist.

I have read with the RDF's some people get good results right on the lands, and other get better results at about .030 off the lands.

So the Question is:

How many rounds at each depth is a good indicator that you are honing in on the best depth? 3-5-7?

What incremental jumps in depth should I be making at each depth? .005, .010, .015?

Thanks, don't want to burn out a barrel just finding what the best load is.

See the various other threads with extensive testing by many of us. Shot like shit with seating depth tested from touching to .06 off in .005 increments.

I am running them .20 off the lands, I am running a 6.5 SLR and it would not shoot with H4350 I switched to Varget and they are hammering. My buddy tried them in a 47 and he could not get them to shoot with Varget so you might have to try a powder

Save your sanity and get Berger Hybrids or ELD's

the 130g TMKs shoot fantastic out of my rifle...i have 2100 130g berger hybrids when they are gone ill be switching over to the TMKs or 130g ELDs

TMK shoot excellent for me as well but have a horrible BC compared to similar bullets like 130 AR or 130 ELD
