Why would one run a 6.5 dasher for PRS? I saw a guy use a 6.5 dasher at a local match and he did really well. He said he was using 140 RDF going 2680.

Nick's a good shooter, he'd do great with any caliber. Haven't chatted with him about it but suspect that the 6.5 Dasher is just for fun and to try something different.

I bet recoil is pretty chill for a 6.5 and you have all the time in the world to watch the bullet to get there... nice and slow.

You can do that same thing with less pressure in 6.5x47, but what do I know? LOL...

That said, when I started out, I ran the 140 RDF at about 2700-ish in a Creed, and it shot well for me at the time. Better than I ever got the 140 ELD-M running. Granted, I only ran it out to distance a couple times due to proximity of matches, etc, but I was happy with it.

What's interesting is... you can get the same effect in a Dasher with a bit less recoil (and probably slightly less pressure) by running a 25 Dasher with the Berger 135 - basically same BC as the 140 RDF, similar splash, etc. Of course, your bullet cost goes up...
