and yes, I did a search. Didn't find what I was looking for.

My initial load test went from 43.0 gr of Varget to 45.8 in .4 increments. Lapua brass, CCI 400 primers. OAL was 2.840, which put the bullet .011" in the lands. (Yes, I goofed.) At 45.4 I got the best accuracy and I started to see very slight pressure signs at 45.8. I settled on 45.4gr of Varget.

Barrel is a 24" Krieger 11.25 twist. I am pretty sure it's not a 5R. The camber is pretty tight. With Scenars 2.829" OAL is touching the lands and with 175 SMKs it's 2.825". The throat is pretty tight as the neck ID is .310 in the brass after firing.

I have tried backing the load off the lands .002, .006 and .029; however, the accuracy is not as good as the .011 into the lands. I wasn't thrilled with that because once I closed the bolt on that round, I could not extract the cartridge without firing it.

So, I want to do more OAL work ups. I know I can start in the lands without pressure signs because I have already done it. I tried jumping the Scenars, but that didn't seem to play well in my rifle, so I plan to go back to seating in the lands. Should I start with touching the land and progress .002" at a time up to .010" and see what works the best?

Also, this load is shooting 2915 based on the dope I got at TVP. That was with the 2.840 OAL. 9.3 Mil to 1K in 28* F temps.

Gap crusader has 22" same barrel. LOVES em. Found my acc node at 45.5 varget. 2.825" oal. Mean was 2883. Not as flat as the smk's but it pretty cool to watch the rising vapor trail twisting left then suddenly splatter the paint on ar 500 plates @ 700 yds

I apologize. My rifle ghas a bartlein barrel. Still 11.25 should do fine with em.

Are you loading on the lands or into the lands?

I am thinking of loading at on, +.005" and +.010". Might also try Federal primers and compare too. I think I already proved my rifle don't like jumping 155 Scenars.

Great out to 1000 meters

*I heard there are more nodes with Varget.

I am lazy and never got around to confirming that.

I just loaded 30 test loads to play with tomorrow. Will find the best 2 and load 25 of each to test at TVP Sunday.

My OAL is 2.833 for touching the lands and 2.200 using the Hornaday comparitor. I loaded 5 each at 2.835, 2.840 & 2.845 using CCI 400 primers and did the same with Federal 110 primers.

Only time I played w/ r/15 is for my dads .204. Only powder I use is varget. Accurate, temp stable and easy to find also plays a major role.

.010" in the lands seemed to work the best. CCI 200 primers grouped better than the Federal primers did. OTOH, was not my best shooting day either.
