For those running a 16" .308 bolt gun what kind of velocities are you getting out of them? What are specs on the tube? cut factory or hand lapped aftermarket?
LM, My "short" DPMS LR is the AP-4...its the standard factory. Haven't chronoed the loads yet but it shoots quite well for its size, maybe a lil over 1/2 inch last time i had it out working on loads.
Shooting the DPMS 16" with 155grn Nosler bullet over 44grns of RL-15 is the same dope as my 175SMK in a 22" Broughton GAP700 rifle with 43.4grns IMR 4064.
18" Broughton 5C 1 in 11 twist suppressed. 155 gr. Berger VLD over 47 gr. of Varget = 2800 fps. Shoots well out to 800 yds. Haven't shot it further yet.

A couple of those guys over there sound like they smoke their breakfast.
Says using the same ammo that an 18" barrel shot 200+fps faster then a 26". Must be magic.

Damn how do you get 47grns of Varget in a case????? I settled on 46 grains and am only mustering up 2750 out of a 22" Broughton 5C 1-10 twist 155 Scenar.
A drop tube and tapping each case on the loading bench before seating the bullet. There is some compression also. Some think the suppressor adds some velocity also. Not sure about that?
