For those running a 16" .308 bolt gun what kind of velocities are you getting out of them? What are specs on the tube? cut factory or hand lapped aftermarket?

Re: 16" .308

Mine is shooting well.

Shooting the DPMS 16" with 155grn Nosler bullet over 44grns of RL-15 is the same dope as my 175SMK in a 22" Broughton GAP700 rifle with 43.4grns IMR 4064.

so take it for what its worth.

Out to 500yds or so.

NOTHING

Not a bolt gun, but 16" stock DPMS 10-twist .308 bbl:
168 Rem factory match at 2512fps avg at 70 degrees.

18" bolt gun with 10-twist custom Bartlien .308 barrel:
Same ammo at 2545fps avg at 70 degrees.

A couple of those guys over there sound like they smoke their breakfast.

Says using the same ammo that an 18" barrel shot 200+fps faster then a 26". Must be magic.

Damn how do you get 47grns of Varget in a case????? I settled on 46 grains and am only mustering up 2750 out of a 22" Broughton 5C 1-10 twist 155 Scenar.
