Part of it was built on slavery..a small part, the agricultural south. That ended with a bang in 1865, though some of its ramifications are still felt today.

That's one place where I listen to a couple of hours of commentary when I can fit it in. As far as news on the radio, I mostly get that from NPR. We're not all insecure little twats that have to have our opinions constantly reinforced.

Slavery had the biggest effect on the South’s economy- by far bigger than any other factor. Also, slavery continued even after the civil war. You should consider expanding your knowledge about the history of this country.
While you are at it you should brush up on the history of slavery around the world.
Also check and see where slavery is practiced this very day.

The NYT and the entire left are trying to make the case that the whole nation, since it's founding, is based on slavery and white supremacy.

This should not be shocking to anyone. They are and have always been the party of Jackson and Calhoun. They have always had racism and a hatred of the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution at their core. They bought off minority votes with welfare payments in the late 1950s and early 1960s to re-enslave black people, and they maintain power the same way today.

What's old is new, and nothing has changed except they've managed to trick the object of their hatred into trading their liberty for false security. If that can be broken they're just a rump party full of racists. What else do you call someone who sees everything through a racial lens? That is the very definition of a racist, which is what they all are.
