Has anyone delved into the 175 gr match monsters? Midsouthshooting sells them for a lot cheaper than the 175 gr SMK. They both claim a B.C. of .505 G1. If so, did you stick with the same powders as other 175 gr projectiles. I have a couple Lbs of Varget in hand that I would like to use. (Pic is the boomstick that will be utilizing the reloads)

I ordered a bunch, they are just noslers custom comps. I havent had a chance to shoot any of the ones I loaded yet due to schedule, but I'm hoping to try some out in the coming weeks. Work has been a pain in the ass recently and I haven't had time.

They seem consistent enough, most are base to Ogive within .0002 and all were very close to 175 weight wise. I only measured about 20 random ones out of the 500 I got. I'm not expecting berger accuracy levels, but I shoot PRS style stuff and I dont need thay level of accuracy.

They seated pretty consistently with my forester die, so I have no complaints yet. Well see if they are any better than my hornady ELds I used.

looks like I’ll give them a try then, thanks.

I bought a 500 count box of the 123 Match monsters and as stated they are custom comps.
So far they have shot very well with nothing more than randomly grabbing them from the box and loading, no silly sorting or weighing.
I have in the past shot quite a few of the 175 and 190 CC bullets with good success.

Kinda want to bump this with some more info. I've run into some differences in length or something. Right now, I'm loading 100 for practice this weekend and have had some variances of up to .006 on my CBTO measurements. Using a forester micrometer seater and a hornady bullet comparator on my calipers. I haven't noticed they shoot overly poor. I have noticed that they will all seat exactly correct for a while, then one will be like .006 long, then everything is good for a while again. It's weird. I dont sort these, I just pull em out of the box.

They still shoot decent, but when you order them, just temper expectations. You aren't getting berger projectile precision for wolf bulk bimetal projectile prices... that's all I'm saying. They are accurate enough for the use I have, just PRS to roughly 900 yards. So they serve that function just fine.

I’ve used them for a few boxes of practice ammo - I use SMKs for Match. They work well, but aren’t SMKs. May make the switch to the 178 ELD Match in the near future.

I can from the 178ELD-M. I got a couple boxes that had deformed tips. It was really weird. Shot em anyways, but I decided to try something new. The cost of the match monster had me. I'll probably go back to sierras. My soire away from SMKs has lead to somewhat mediocre results

The 168gr match monsters are great. I switched from SMK due to price alone. There was a SLIGHT (0.1 moa) increase in group size averages from 1-300yd but not enough for me to care for my non-competitive purposes.

I'm about half way through a box of 500 for the 175 grain Match Monsters. They shoot pretty awesome. I'm reloading for a 308 Win gas gun that I put together. I found a couple good shooting loads with IMR 4064, RL-15, and H4895. Here are a few groups I've printed with the Match Monsters. I'm probably going to stick with them for now. All 3 of my groups below were shot with 43 gr of Reloader 15, 210M Primers, Lake City Brass, and 2.805-inch COAL. 10-Shot group was @ 200 yards.
