18 inch MK14 ish

I currently am putting together a Similar rifle I carried in Iraq last tour except I am using a 18 inch barrel this time, in Iraq I used a ARMS 18 mount and it survived 15 months of battle and harsh treatment.
I just got a deal on a Steel Sadlak mount, but I never used one in the same environment, anyone have any testimony on this mount other than the gun safe and range time? Just need to know if its going to stand up to the same beating as the ARMS.
Thanks

here is my rifle in Iraq

here is my current project
and yes I know my reloading bench is a mess, and the POS junk SA mount is only for testing the scope height....Sadlak is in route

Looking VERY nice so far!! I'll be interested to see what kind of results you obtain once you get some trigger time. As for the Sadlak mount...it is one of the mounts that I have used extensively and highly recommend. I think that you will be pleased with the quality/durability of the Sadlak.

On a side note, I hope that you and yours are okay post-Tornado!! It certainly did a number on your reloading bench!!!

(Hey...we've all been there! I have had my bench look FAR worse than that in the past.)

Good luck with finishing up your build...look forward to an update.

From what I hear, the Sadlak mounts are of higher quality than the ARMs. I use an ARMs myself and am happy with it, but it has room for improvement as far as machining goes.

You should note that the Sadlak is significantly taller than the ARMs.

Nice.

Sadlak mounts are good to go once properly installed. You will have to remove some of the top rail lugs to get it to fit, I think about 5 lugs. I had to do the same with my M25's extended rail. Easy work with a file and hacksaw. I cut mine lower so I could pull off the top rail without removing the scope and rail.

Thinking about running a GLFS dovetail with a Vortex flash suppressor? Takes about 2 inches off the front end, just a thought.
