Suppressors 18" midlength and a 762sd?

Re: 18" midlength and a 762sd?

Should work great! Dono about buffers, I've got normal weight and H2 running - all good. I do use the Gasbuster.

Re: 18" midlength and a 762sd?

I have a POF P12x in 556 that I use a 762sd on. When I first got the silencer I was running a regular buffer and spring and was using the gasbuster charging handle. I was noticing quite a bit of blowback so I switched out the buffer spring for a Wolff XP action spring: http://www.gunsprings.com/index.cfm?page=items&cID=2&mID=1&dID=79

and a DPMS heavy buffer http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=480

When I installed these I noticed a significant reduction in the blowback and the gun was noticably quieter than before. So far it is having no cycling issues. I am shooting wolf ammo and my reloads with no trouble at all. I would bet it would have cycling issues unsuppressed, but why would I ever want to shoot unsuppressed?

Have fun! I love my 762SD!

Re: 18" midlength and a 762sd?

I run the DPMS heavy two-piece buffer with standard carbine springs in all my suppressed SBRs (11.5" barrels). In my 14.5" M4 I am also running that combination of spring and buffer. In my 16" suppressed ARs I am running H2 buffers with standard CAR springs. I use GasBuster CHs on all my ARs. The GasBuster is forged, not pot metal. You won't bend or bind the GB CHs like you can a standard CH.

Wolf ammo is under powered compared to mil-spec M193 by ~100+ FPS depending on barrel length. m1, if that POF won't run unsuppressed you might try more powerful ammo and I bet you will have better results.

Thanks for the advice Mark! I was encouraged that even the wolf ammo would cycle my gun even with the extra power spring and heavy buffer. I really dont care if it wont cycle suppressed because 1) shooting unsuppressed just is not that fun and 2) due to the neighbors I really cant shoot unsuppressed anymore. I keep the standard buffer spring and buffer in my range bag, so if push came to shove I could just switch it out.

I'm loving the 762SD and am anxiously awaiting my sparrow!! Thanks again Mark!
