Alright guys need some help and some options for a gunsmith. I have a springfield 1898 30/40 krag. Its in good shape and the receiver has been checked out. I'm looking to fix it up a little and see if I could make it an easy cary hunting rifle. Its already been cut down back in the '30ks so I'm not to concerned with destroying an original piece. First thing is the front sight blade is awful. Looks like some scrap metal welded on, and the bore could be better. I've seen a few floating around for sale with great hardwood montecarlo stocks and even some side scope mounts. I love the smooth action and reloading for it is easy and cheap. Any advise on where I can get parts and a gunsmith familiar with them. Thanksm
