Gunsmithing 1911 grip screw bushings

Ok may a stupid question but I tried my seach-fu and came up nil


what size tap would I use for the bushings on a 1911 ? normal size not over.

Not a stupid question but I gotta ask why? They're very fine in pitch and easy to damage. Unless absolutly needed, I'd pass on screwing with them.

Answer is .236-60 tpi, use 7/32" bit as starter.

working on a project frame it has no threads but the hols are drilled I will have to check to what size they are drilled but setting a busing on them seems like as if it would thread rite in if there were any threads
